Dear Ladybug: I recently made a huge mistake and went to dinner with my boss. Even though I knew better, after a few drinks we went back to my place and had sex. It was TERRIBLE!!!! Now, every day at work he asks me to go out to dinner and I have no desire to whatsoever. He is the worst lover I have ever had. I’m afraid to keep putting him off because I cannot afford to lose my job. What do I do? Yours, Size does matter
Dear Size Does Matter: While sleeping with your boss is never a good idea, you can't un-spill that expired milk. One question you should ask yourself is, if the sex was good, would you still be having sex with the boss? I can guess that answer would be HELL YES....So the true balance here is how do you keep working at your job and not revisit that disappointing experience???
At this point, the only thing you can do is pretend that you have strep throat. That will protect you for at least 10 to 14 days. Make sure you specify that you could be contagious. Then at the end of that 2 weeks, say you are having severe headaches and have gotten a UTI from taking the antibiotics. Both men and women can get UTI'S. That will buy another 2 weeks. During that time, stop flirting and really try to cool things down during work hours.
If the persistence continues, find yourself a good lover or pretend you did. Say the new lover is actually an old lover back in your life again. State that this lover is home from some service where that service helps save lives. Say you can't be with the boss again because you are not a cheater. Then keep that boss at arms length for as long as possible. It would be really hard for any half decent person to argue that point.
If all this doesn't work out, you may have to find a new job and hope the next boss is a better lover (joke, that last part was a joke). Just trying to lighten up the situation. I hope this advice helps you get past this awkwardness in the office. Thanks for your question to Ask Ladybug Anything and please let me know how this all works out for you. Follow-ups are always fun.
